Having achieved undergraduate and master's degrees in music at King's College London and Goldsmiths, University of London respectively, Alex has built a freelance career encompassing both amateur and professional performance alongside musical education, with a particular passion for choral music and music for the stage.

With over ten year’s experience in music education, Alex has developed a passion for helping others, both adults and children, to improve themselves as musicians and fulfil their musical goals.
As a piano tutor Alex works to bring out the best in his students each week, motivating them to improve and enjoy their playing both in lessons and at home. Alex encourages students to consider all elements of their music and works to foster independent thinking and self-evaluation in lessons.

Alex specialises in choral and vocal music for both adult and children's choirs.
His setting of Edward Lear’s ‘The Duck and the Kangaroo’ for children’s choir premiered at the Wandsworth Schools’ Music Mayor’s Gala Concert in 2017.
